What are interest groups?
In addition to weekly lectures, members can join small, informal groups to explore hobbies, ideas, and shared interests. Each group is coordinated by a U3A member and sets its own specific schedule and agenda. We welcome suggestions for new interest groups.

Art appreciation
Do the visual arts – paintings, sculpture, ceramics – fascinate you? This group provides the opportunity to appreciate the incredible variety of art offered in Christchurch and the surrounding area. We visit galleries (public and private), interact with artists in their studios and enjoy guided tours of major exhibitions. Monthly activities are determined by group members.
Meets: 3rd Tuesday of each month, commencing at 2pm. Numbers may be limited depending upon the venue.

Current affairs
Engage your mind with lively, thought-provoking discussions on the topics shaping our world. From local headlines to international issues, the conversation is always engaging and driven by the group’s own interests.

Epicurean
Love good food and great company? This group dines out monthly, choosing a new cuisine and venue each time. It’s a relaxed way to try something new, with partners welcome to join in the fun.
Meets: 2nd Sunday of each month, lunch or dinner (Feb–Nov)

Walking
Get moving and get talking! This group meets for weekly walks around Christchurch, all finished with a social cuppa. Routes vary and are chosen by members. This is a great way to enjoy the outdoors. explore our environment and connect with others.
Meets: Tuesdays at 10:00am (9:30am during daylight saving)
