UC BrightStart Scholarship

The Canterbury Tertiary Education Millennial Trust was established in 2001 to offer scholarships to students from Canterbury, the West Coast, Nelson and Marlborough who had the ability to succeed in tertiary study for the first time but were experiencing financial or significant personal hardship.

Today, the scholarships provide first-year tuition fees and all compulsory enrolment fees charged by the University of Canterbury for recipients’ full-time study at the university.

Each year we invite two recipients to our U3A annual dinner and are always delighted to hear of the difference the scholarships have made to their lives.
